TR2/3/3A Hazard::TR3 bonnet stayrod assembly crack

I noticed that the "bonnet stayrod" assembly on my TR3 seemed to be not real stable. So I took a close look at it and found that the bracket that holds the rod to the bonnet was cracked about half way accross the bracket. This could be bad news if it broke while working on the car and the heavy bonnet came down and hit you in the head or back. I'm going to weld mine tomorrow and then keep an eye on it.

Regards,
Bob

That could have happened if the pivot for the rod is stiff from rust, constantly putting stress on the bracket. Make sure that the rod swings free on the bracket.
