Hay Tony, look where I stoped for gas.

That is one neat looking place! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

It was all for sale of course.

There is one old-style gas pump nearby Calgary that I discovered recently...

Interestingly, it has been converted to a modern style nozzle so that it is still in full use, including the pumping action to get it going... The owner told me that lots of old cars have come through for gas, just for the photo op...

[not my best photo ever, apologies for the crappy example of my photowork /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif]

Have had a fantasy about refurbishing some old "one hole-er" & putting an "ding-ding" pump out front that dispenses 105.

And offer a few bits & service for the few LBCs still on the road around here. (basic stuff only)

A retirement prospect /possibility...

Have to hire a couple of old guys to sit on rocking chairs in overalls, drink Guinness & play checkers.

count me in for one of the old guys, just took the overalls off after being under the midget (mg that is)

Nice , now fess up Jack what did you get /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

So, Jack, where is it?

That's great. It just reminded me that there is (or was, a couple years ago) a place on the interstate outside of Rolla, MO, where the guy had what looked like a couple of acres with old gas pumps growing like bright metal trees.

Way cool, Jack.

neat stuff.. I've often thought of doing a Photo-essay of old gas stations in the area here. I know of several. most are houses now, but if you look hard enough you can see them.
If you're ever in Bennington Vt. ya gotta stop in at the full service station in front of Hemmings motor news, then go round back to the museum. Well worth it. The station is packed inside with automobilia goodies.
not to mention all the wonderful sights in and around Bennington...

Last place I saw a 10 gallon(?) glass top really being used was in Glamis, Calif...

Can't find his business card at the moment. Will look later. But it was on 331 closish to the Fla line in Alabama, maybe 20 miles.
