Correct me if I am wrong pls.

Pos and neg on coil to battery with a switch.

Battery to starter switch and engine ground.

That's it right, should run?

Of course would hook up an oil pressure gage.

Yep, no generator, regulator and such, no prob will run off of batt for quite a while.

Jack, if you're still pos. ground, Neg. terminal (or SW terminal) on coil to switched battery, Neg. post. Positive (or CB) on coil to points. (If you change to Neg. ground for some reason, the coil terminals are reversed.) Battery to starter switch, Neg. post, Positive Battery to engine ground.
Clear as mud?
Jack, don't forget to have the fire extinguisher handy when you first fire her up!!!!
Jeff

Shoot, that's the only electrical I will have hooked up. Yep think I will have a fire extinguisher and will roll her out in the drive way. Will be a week, but bet I can do that, hehe.

Jack it only takes one spark and a fuel leak to ruin your whole day! I would never do an initial start without an extinguisher at the ready.
In the garage I've got dry chem, CO2, water, and Halon handy!
Jeff

Yup. No matter ~HOW~ careful I am at the rebuild, even if it's just superstition there's an extinguisher handy. And about anything I have at least two of is crossed when I hit the go-button. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

...don't ask. It took years of practice!/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Jack I will try to email you a wiring diagram out of an old manual I have, it may help.

PS more to the point with electricals is have a pair of insulated gloves to grab wires with and disconnect / break things up with if the juice begins frying wires and stuff!

Ohhhhhh, bad.

Yep, never tighten down the battery wire till all tested.

Nice comprehensive diagrams leecreek! - I like the layout of that old one I sent you Jack - I think it is easier to picture where everything is as found on the car - as much a picture as a diagram!
