Hello Everyone. I have not used this forum in a long time. Hope to be on this more often. I own a 1966 MGB, which I purchased in 1975. This car has a SMITHS RVI 2401/00B Positive Ground Tachometer. The original one was not working, I checked the wiring to make sure it did not have a break or disconnection in one of the wires, but couldn't get it to work. So ordered a refurbished one from The Gauge Shop in England. I received the tach, looked nice, installed it and it does not work. I noticed that the pointer is just above 0 when the car is off, but when I turn the key the pointer moves to the right below the 0. Almost as if the polarity was reversed, but there is only one way to connect it so that doesn't seem to be the case. Has anyone had a similar experience or does anyone know of a simple test I can perform to make sure the signal or power is getting to the tach?
Thanks in advance for any help,
