Have a happy and safe 4th

That brought chills. I'd no idea she'd done that. Thanks, Sir!

It'll be interesting to see if there is a repeat of last year in LA. LAPD confiscated 5000lbs of illegal fireworks earlier this week that accidentally went off injuring 17.

Saw the video of that detonation. Any news as to what could have set it off? I've not found a followup. Sure made a mess.

Looks like it will take a while for the real answers. There were 40 soda can sized mystery objects containing a powdered explosive. The bomb squad decided to detonate on site instead of transporting it out of the neighborhood. Guess those cans packed a bigger whalup than what the bomb truck could take. The blast flipped a car over that was across the street. LA Times article about it.

I would've thought more than one of those guys to be former military or reserve EOD types. Should have known better than to chance any detonation near populated areas, especially with "mystery" containers. What does an IED look like? They can be contained in about anything!

In honor of 4th of July I will not be working on my little British cars today.... of course, tomorrow isn't looking good either๐Ÿ˜€

Kids coming over for evil BBQ later today. Granddaughter spent the night sans parents for the first time last night.

I like that arrangement - I am not particularly observant in any religious capacity but I do like gospel music, whether it be country or R&B or soul. The intro on that with her singing over that combination of the basic piano line being filled with that jazz organ is just flat out intense.

Over 1400 visitors to Sturbridge Village on the Fourth. Sixty new citizens took the USA oath of allegiance in our naturalization ceremonies. Great day!

An early 19th century Independence Day celebration -
