Something that has always bugged me is advertising on ball caps that we are expected to pay for. Car logos, car clubs, golfing etc are fine, but advertising a business on a hat they want you to pay for I don't agree with. Picked up a part from a John Deere dealer the other day and there were a bunch of hats on the shelf covered in JD ads, just being a smart a$$ I asked the parts man if they were free? He looked at me like I had two heads! :highly_amused:. When I left with a $100.00 part, I turned and told him I would buy a hat if was plain with no ads. He gave me a funny look and I left. I do things like that sometimes. :excitement:. PJ

If I like a company (and I need a hat) I don't mind. Harley Davidson (or businesses that pay them to license their logo) probably makes as much selling clothing items with their logo as they do their bikes.

I've asked people who wear those (& t shirts)
"How much do they pay you to wear that?".
I usually get a blank stare,& "Huh?".

Ok, I guess I am the odd man out (wouldn't be the first time) but I really don't see the issue personally. If someone likes a product or a company or a music group or a football team and wants to buy an article of clothing with that logo or brand, I don't have a problem with that. It's called the free market. I have bought shirts with The Beatle's logo and with my favorite football team logo. If it's not something you want to buy, then the "free" in free market says you are free to not buy it. Now that said, I have a hat with a Hyundai Logo, but the dealer in Huntsville AL gave it to me when I flew in to pick up my new (at the time) Santa Fe. I probably would not have paid to buy a hat with a Hyundai logo because, well, it's a Hyundai. However, I have purchased t-shirts and hats advertising the Chevrolet Corvette since I own a C5. Just my 2 cents.

Saw this hat in Nova Scotia this passing September (in Sydney).

I don't see the problem unless you're somehow forced to buy them. We occasionally buy swag with our logo for our dealers & good customers and give the stuff away but if I thought we could get them to pay for it I'd certainly go for it.

If they're all Mainahs, you'd have a tough time gettin' 'em to pay fer swag. Now if ya were in Boston or Buffalo, you'd have a shot. :smirk:

John Deere sent me a free hat and a sun top to use with my L-120. I wear the hat, feeling a bit ridiculous like Farmer Brown, but the sun top is sitting in the corner of the garage.

Best hat I ever owned... and I have 2.

Got one of those, and the earlier Kelly Green one.

I have a couple of International Harvester caps and a couple of OSU caps. Other than that I doubt I'd pay for a cap with a company's logo on it. Now if I bought a Harley and they gave me a cap, sure I'd wear it.
