Has Spring arrived?

Exactly a week ago, it was 15F here in Dallas. Today, it is 75F.

I've spent the last several days in the garage trying to get my Healey back together and driveable.

It takes 3 things to make an engine run. Fuel, spark, and air. Common wisdom says, "only change one at a time", but while I had the front end sheet metal off, I have made dramatic changes to 2 of the 3... Fuel = 4 SU carbs. and spark = distributorLESS ignition.

I hope that I haven't bitten off more than I can chew.....

Anybody else logging a lot of garage time?

Tim

Haven't peeked under the cover in over a month...having too much fun playing in the snow.

4 SU's yikes!

nevets, yup, i still have mounds of snow 5' high along the edges of our driveway, i dont think well be sporting around in sports cars till late july, :cryin:,... thats when cottontop will be looking around for some shade!

I think that I've got that shade thing taken care of. The main reason I took the front end sheet metal
off was to install a wide radiator to support my new A/C to cool inside my new-to-me Healey hardtop.

That's plan "A" anyway.

Cottontop - Wow AC! You'll be one of those smug drivers you see driving around with the windows shut in mid August.

I've been logging more garage time than the Mrs. cares for me to. The car should be done cutting/buffing next week and I have been busy polishing up all the shiny stuff that will go back on the car.

Supposed to top 55* degrees here tomorrow. If I canremember where I put the Healey, I might go take it out for a drive!

I have this to go on...

(obviously, that isn't my garage...)

Recieved the car from Houston TX the first week of December. It had not run in eleven years maybe more. Since then the following has been rebuilt:
fuel pump
carbs
dizzy
front bearings
rear pinion seal
brake calipers
brake wheel cylinders
brake master
clutch master
clutch slave
It runs beautifully and I drove it around the block a few times before the clutch stopped working. So now the transmission is coming out and after that is working there is a new wiring harness and a carpet set to go in. Hoping to have it done before the ned of March.

It was in the 50's last Saturday for our AHCO tech session at Loynings Engine Service. https://www.loynings.com/ I enjoyed seeing what the shop was working on for the upcoming race season. With the "warm" dry weather I opted to leave my BRG dd at home and take out the original BRG machine in the family. Cold and wet again here today.

Drove the Jag yesterday..hit 60 in Columbus , Ohio....The Healey takes a little more work to get it out if the garage.

Need less to say..saw NO other top down british cars.

Cottontop: so warm here this week that the forsythias have been fooled into blooming by Mother Nature.

'Sposed to be in the seventies, again, today. Gotta get the roadster ready . . . :yesnod:

Gee, thanks fellows. I just got done removing 3 feet of new snow in the driveway after 2 feet yesterday evening when I got from from work. My wife left for work and got stuck ten feet from the driveway. Her V8 Toyota 4-runner had to be dug out. I then used the snow blower to clear the street 500 feet to a road that had been plowed(took 6 passes). I have 6 to 7 feet on either side of my drive way. Three days ago there were only 3 feet. Spring cannot come too soon but cannot wait to get out on X-country skis and snow shoes (Ski resorts will be packed with all this new powder and Presidents weekend).

Yep and they say you gonna get some more this week end. :eeek:

Tahoe Healey -

If the snow stays until May..........don't worry you can still take the Healey out for a spin. They love snow!
