Can't confirm this yet, but I just heard that Harvey Korman (Carol Burnett show) has died.

Harvey Korman, Carol Burnett, and Tim "Simba" Conway.

Where do we look for comedy these days?

Yes - passed away today in Los Angeles. That is very sad news. Tim Conway, Harvey Korman and Carol B. were part of my "younger years".

Tom

Tom,
Were you really younger?

Actually I remember our whole family in tears from laughing at some of there routines. It was comedy that made everyone laugh. There is not so much of that currently.

Dave - you cut me to the quick sir! I was *indeed* younger! As a matter of fact, when I was only a tiny lad of six, my father returned from his job with President Lincoln, looked at me and said:

"Shame on you Tom! When I was your age, I was two years older!"

(OK - back to boring reality ... muth have gone a bit too far ...)

Tom...actually a great pic...Korman...played the straight guy on Burnett Conway would always crack him up......very funny in Blazing Saddles!!!

And in "History of the World Part 1"
Harvy Korman and Tim Conway are two of my all time favorite comedians.
Very sad, but he left a wealth of memories.
Thank you Mr. Korman.
I remember as a kid watching The Carol Burnette Show with my parents and just rolling on the floor laughing while my parents were in tears laughing.

Absolutely. Thank you Mr. Korman.

Gentlemen - take a look. Dentist Tim Conway accidently anesthetizes his own hand, but proceeds to attempt dental surgery on Korman, who desperately tries to keep from bursting out laughing.

I always loved it when Conway would get him so cracked up he could'nt deliver his next line.

And don't forget "Hedley Lamar" in "Blazing Saddles"!

GOSH! They were funny! I'm with Banjo, I remember laughing uncontrollably!

We've got Andy Griffith and Little House on the Prairie for the kids (and us) on DVD. I wonder if the Carol B show is on DVD?

Wow that stinks. I too grey up watch CB. He was also so great with Mel brooks.

I don't know about The Carol Burnette Show, but I have season 1 and 2 of the Muppet Show on DVD. Harvy Korman was a guest star on one of those. It's a scream. If CB is on DVD that'd be a great set to get.
Tim Conway does a voice on the SpongeBob Squarepants cartoon. He plays "Barnicle Boy" Sidekick to "Mermaid Man" voiced by Ernest Borgnine. both are geriatric has-beens that still have all thier super hero equipment (and reamin in costume), and even though they live in a retirement home, they still respond to distress calls. Those episodes are a hoot.

I always hated hearing the ending credits music on the CB show as a kid. That always meant that I had to wait a week to see the next one since consumer VCRs hadn't been invented yet. Speaking of which, there is an 8 DVD set out with the first six seasons.

Her cast always worked so well together, it would almost be impossible to duplicate that today. Especially with someone like Harvey who enjoyed playing the straight man, most comedic actors want to be the funny one.

Rest In Peace

Dick Martin, Harvey Korman... ooof. They had good runs, both. And left us a legacy not to be forgot. "Say goodnight, Dick." and Harvey.

...I'm waitin' for the third shoe to drop.

How the heck did Tim Conway manage to keep going while Harvay was busting a gut in the chair?! SO funny and SO talented!

At least we can still enjoy them on video!! Think of all the great vaudevillians that these guys learned their craft from who passed on with little left behind to be remembered by!!! The guard keeps changing and hopefully the replacements can do honor to those that paved their way!!!

First color TV program I remember was Carol Burnett at my grandpa's house. He came over from Scotland when he was 8 and had all the stereotypical "spending challenged" Scot traits...

I must have been close to 4.... and for a couple of years I actually thought that Carol, Harvey, and Tim had green skin.
