Harley vs Triumph

This afternoon as I'm out & about, I stopped by the Harley dealership to show Jerri the 1200C - price wasn't all that higher than the one I got in Korea....then, I took her over to the Triumph dealer & showed her a 2006 Speedmaster - we both liked it better than the Harley - it even seemed larger than the 1200C! Heck of a rake on those forks also! Salesman said I need to sit on an America because he thinks I'll enjoy its handlebar setup a little better, but he won't have one until February.

So, Jerri says to see if I can find one that's a couple of years old....hehehehe...anybody know of a nice used America around?

Harry - that one's "Buy it Now" price is higher than driving a new Speedmaster off the showroom (& they're about $1000 higher than an America!)! I got a $7995 plus tax price on my first visit - bet I can get lower after Christmas & before New Year!

I don't really like the grey one & the green one is way too far...

All the ones presently on ebay say the engines are 790cc's...however, the 2007 Triumph literature says the new ones are 865cc.....hmmmm

Friend of mine contacted me - his daughter's boyfriend is thinking about selling his 2003 Triumph Speedmaster....I contacted the boyfriend via telephone & we talked....it might be what I'm looking for once he decides on a price & I get the feel of it.....its yellow & black (would go nicely with my yellow & black Norton!)....more after Christmas:

UPDATE: the guy called back today & set the price..WOW!! He loves that bike...I can buy a new 2006 for about $1000 more than what he wants for a 2003.

The search continues!

Some folks are just too proud of their toys. A local antique shop has had what looked like an early BMW airhead and sidecar in their window since we moved in last year. Finally went in today and looked at it. It's a Russian BMW clone from early post war, in pretty rough shape. They wanted $18,000 for it. I laughed to myself and kept on moving.
