Harland Sharp Roller Rockers

I just got these off of Ebay. Set them on the head and the roller tips don't line up with the valve stem. I know that they should be dead center. Any Thoughts?

Looks like a 'small bore' set on a 'big bore' head

You need to shim and grind the pedestals for the HS rocker arms. It can take a while to get them right. You also need to check the push rod clearance in the head once it is assembled on the block. The pedestals may need to be shimmed up or the holes in the head opened up.

Also, did you verify the adjuster screws are the right ones? If you reused them off an old factory set they need to be off the right ones. The sintered metal arms and stamped ones have different treads. They smaller ones will thread in but will strip under load.

The rockers came assembeld as shown, they were advertised as for a 1275 so I guess the seller didn't know for sure. Thanks ChrisS I'll check the adjuster screws, I have shims for the pedestals if needed.

you can get a set of shims from Minimania to use to move the rockers side to side until they line up precisely with the valve. I found I could use the stock pedestals but had to raie them about .050 with available shims, also from Minimania. But then I decided to go with the Keith Dodd forged rockers, which came with purpose-fitted pedestals et al, so the Sharp rockers are now sitting tucked away in a plastic bag. And you absolutely do have to replace the screws with larger ones, drill/tap/helicoil to fit.
