Does anyone or has anyone done a hardwire installation on a radar detector in the X-type? So far can't find anyone that has done this. Fairly simple usually, but this one is making it dificult for me to tape into the correct wire. Any help would be great.

I would gain access to the back of the cigar lighter and tap off the 12 volts for the detector power. Run a wire from this location to your preferred location mounting. Ground is your call.
 
Or - drive the speed limit.
 
I have a Valentine 1 hardwired in my Vette. I just found a hot wire in my fuse terminal area and added an inline fuse for the detector. Works like a champ.
