Hardtop...

I am beginning to gain an interest in getting a hardtop, but the restoration of one is less than a thrilling idea...

While one day someone MAY decide to sell their restored hardtop (doubtful), and if I ever find a good restorable one I could have it done, I began to wonder...

Does anyone currently manufacture a fiberglass top that looks like an original? I've seen the ones offered through the major parts wolesalers and they don't look right to me...

And if you've got a white, black, or red original top that you no longer want, let me know!!

I believe the best reproductions come from Nical Engineering in the UK, Nick is probably at concave now as he usually takes a few over, I know alot of your US members have them. Not bad prices even with shipping.(I think Mike O has one?) He also manufacturers and sells alot of the restoration parts needed to restore one:

they also make one for the 100

Thanks, Andy. I really like this top. I've e-mailed them to ask a question. It doesn't look like they have the metal support bars in the rear window that the original top has. Maybe he has something that is aesthetic that can be added...

It also looks like the rear window is larger, which is actually something I'd consider an improvement!

I hope that the support bars can be mocked up and added. This appears to be a great alternative.

Thanks, Andy. These are great. I'll be e-mailing for a price list. This is something I'd like to do by the end of the summer to mid autumn.
