Hardtop Restoration

I've removed 7 layers of paint from the hardtop and now I'm down to the gel coat. The glass has safely been removed and stored and the hardware stored. I've sourced new seals from McGregor's. Now I'm into an area that I've never worked with before...50 year old fiberglass. What I've found is very thin crazing in a large circular pattern. Probably caused by a hit the top took to the left front corner. The gel coat is solid, but the thin cracks went though all the layers of old paint.

Use the zoom fxn to get a better look.

I've been scanning the internet on how to repair this defect and there are many opinions in the boat forums, but no 100% diffinitive method. This is my project and I'm determined to do it myself. Any advice?

Thanks

Paul

Doesn't Glenn have experience with fiberglass?

Tervor
Yes, I belive he does. I have yet to meet him. He lives about 90 miles away in Davis, Ca. Maybe after he gets back for LoO I'll have to pay a visit to him and my alma mater (UCD).

Go Aggies!!!!!
