A buddy of mine was able to score on those 2 Spridgets in Columbus last week with the Arkley Kit. Pieces included a hardtop that appears to fit a Mark II Spridget with side curtains that will be for sale. Don't have a price yet but I imagine it will be reasonable. Please let me know if you are interested and I'll put you in touch with the guy.

NFI other than I hope to score a few parts for Bugsy out of the booty he picked up.

Jim - ya gotta remember that a MkII Sprite is a MkI Midget.....MkII Midgets have roll-up windows.

If it is a Mk II Sprite/MK I Midget top, I may be interested, depending on condition, price and freight.

Ditto on the MkI Midget Factory hardtop.

Folks, after my buddy got the hardtop home he tried for fit on his '70 Midget and it fit perfectly. He's decided to keep it for now. Thanks for all the inquiries.

Hey Tony you need to sell a few of those hardtops you've got in the back of your garage. 5 is too many.

Oh well, that's the way the cookie crumbles. Probably would have cost more than I could spare just to ship it to North Dakota anyway. Thanks for mentioning it though...

NO WAY!! Right now I have 4 convertibles - each with its own hardtop...when the 5gth one gets finised Old English White, that gives me a reason to find an Iris Blue pull handle car (or redo the red '67 I just bought!)

Just can't get enough of Hardtops. I obtained a fiberglass hardtop some many years ago. I was told it was for a Sprite (?), no year, make, model, or anyother discription. At the time I had two Big Healeys patiently waiting for restoration, (still have them, still waiting, but that's another story for another section of this Forum). Not one to get rid of anything, I kept the hardtop. Over this last summer, I did become a proud pappa of a 62 MKII Sprite. (See earlier "introduction" posting). Don't you know it, the top fits. Did I tell you I am blessed? I would like to get more information about this top that I have. I am trying to upload a photo to this posting, not sure if this is the correct procedure. The top is in great shape, however it does not have any of the hardware for holddowns. The back section is not too difficult to figure out a method, but the front area over the windscreen is what I'm not sure of??? Jim is it possible to get in touch with you to discuss this. I believe we are almost neighbors, just a hop, skip, and puddle-jump on 70. I believe that I will have my Sprite in good enough shape to make the drive to Dayton in no time. Thanks

Re: Hardtop for Mark II Spridget

It Worked. I love it, I might start liking computers at this rate. Now that I know how to upload images, here's a better view of the hardtop. Any thoughts on how to keep it on the car. It's OK while sitting in the barn, but my wife says her arms get tired at about 55mph.

Thanks again,
Magyar

In another thread (Something to warm your heart) there is this video posted

What is interesting is that a far greater number of the racers use hard tops. I know I get 10% better fuel mileage, or 10% greater top speed with mine on. .. Of course summer WILL be back and off it will come, but in the meanwhile..................
