Got the rear window seal and stuff in, went to my pal's sign shop yesterday and he ~gave~ me a piece of clear plexi large enough to chop out two quarterlight windows (all the "usual suppliers" wanted $50 apiece for 'em!). Right side done, left in progress:

JACK!!! Get rid of the plexi & go with LEXAN...if you need enough to do the 2 lites, let me know - I've got a piece sitting in a corner....the plexi is hard & will "spider" again in a few years.

Looks great! One of the side lites in my hardtop on the '69 MGC is spydered...but I think it adds some patina...especially with the Mexico 1972 Visitors' Decal that's on it!

I need to replace the chrome insert on the back lite...how difficult did you find that to be?

You know Doc, that's looking good. Why am I susprised, I'm susprised at the stage you are at not the quality fo the work.

Looks great. if you don't mind me asking, how are you cutting it? Score and snap or sawblade mounted backwards? Some other way? Lexan is bulletproof, but plexi/perspex probably looks more authentic if that matters.

Cutting it with a bandsaw, file and sand edges. I was offered Lexan, but decided on the plexi as it's what was there originally (Perspex). I've an "infinite" supply, so if it gets "funny" I'll just re-make 'em later out of Lexan.

The insert is a PITA with an old gasket, Rick. I made a tool from a coat-hanger (to look like the tool in the Bentley manual) and gripped it with ViseGrips to do this job. Stuffed it in the channel with me thumb. Couldn't locate the tool I *know* I have! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

ETA is two or three weeks. We'll see. Herself needs to get on the stick and stitch up the upholstery for interior panels and seats now.

Looks good Doc. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif I'd like a hard top too but I would probably go with a Vynil top that I always liked.

Looks really good... I like the body-color hardtop.... I need 2... one for the B and one for the Alfa /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here's a pic of my '68 MGC with body coloured hardtop. The hardtop on the '69 MGC is white (the bodyshell is red)..but I did paint it the same shade of white as my '78 MGB..so it interchanges nicely.

We progress apace.

I'd like to make the MG 2006 event with this lump. SWMBO has suggested it can be done but my take is it likely ain't happenin'.

Thanks all for the reinforcement! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

'tiz what it is. We'll see.

If your luck is anything close to mine....

Jack - you got a photo of the entire car? I really want to see the white on white for effect!

Ummmm.... Nevermind again.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

I'd love to see the whole thing myself... and skip the close shots - hehehehehehehe.

With that hardtop the next thing will be A/C, ain't that right Doc?
