well i have never in 17 years of looking found the the B piller bracket for the hard top.
so after a bunch of proto types i have a 3d printed bracket that will pivot out the way when off the car

looks great! (weren't you having car issues back in the fall? - how did that work out?)
 
i ordered a bracket from england but it they just sent a piece of metal with a 90 degree bend and two holes drilled in it. so i sent it back. and i designed this up in the computer, at first i had a simple design that i was going to print then have made in metal but once i saw the strength i could get in printed plastic i designed it for printing with the pivot point.

So the bracket itself is plastic? That is very cool. I've not seen 3D printing used for that 'structural' a location before - recognizing that the forces on it aren't huge when it is bolted down.
 
it seems strong enough, we will see with the 12 speed bumps to get to my house.
