Haps Head

Hello Gents,

Just received my 1275 head from Hap. It was expertly packed; Hap should start a side business during his time off. I am sure he must have a few hours during the night when he has time, sleeping is over rated. Thanks Hap, you do good work.
My head is ported polished and speced to my 1363cc engine. I currently have a stock head that is starving my engine.I have almost 1000 miles on my new eng. it runs like a Swiss clock. Can hardly wait to see the performance improvement. Working too much so it may take a few weeks for an update. As a side note I did a bad thing added up my Sprite bills , so far this year I have spent 10 grand and since I pulled my 66 sprite out of the garage (last 3 years ) I have now past 18 grand. Still need to strip the body and have a full tub restoration once the mechanical end is as close to perfect as I can manage. Hard to believe but I will have 30 grand poured into her by the time she is up to my standard. Yikes, started out as a harmless low budget toy. But I get so much enjoyment, worth every last cent. Now keep this under your Sprite hat’s my wife does not need to really have the fine details, ball park numbers are ok.
Cheers
Phil

remember just keep saying its a hobby, just think how much you would spend if you golfed and if you do then dont show it to your wife.

That looks great! One more happy Hap customer.

I run my family's finances, and am very careful with our numbers. Checkbook always balances, that sort of thing. But I've never added up the spending on the Tunebug... I've got all the receipts, but will never add them up. Don't need to know.

Rule #1... Never, never add up the receipts.

I have a big jar, all the receipts get crumpled up and shoved inside.

a) I'm hoping that by the time I'm ready to do the math, they all will have faded to the point of being illegible, saving me the pain of knowing.

b) Sadly, I now need a bigger jar.

your secret is safe with us. Just this am my wife was explaining to my daughter that when I acquired Ms triss that she promised herself she would never ask what something cost. - good woman that! And of course, in my world a dress and shoes only ever cost $15 each - all I need to know

All you have to remember is my prime directive: <span style="font-style: italic">"She can never say 'no' to you if you never say 'no' to her."</span> That & throw away all the receipts before you add them up!

But, Hap sure does build nice stuff!

funny my wife accuses me of bribery just because i wine and dine her and talk about buying car parts, go figure.

I learned early on when I did some suspension work for a guy that owned a jewelry store.

I told him I would rather have credit at his store than get paid cash and he agreed.

Brought the wife there on day and told her she has $$$ credit she could use for anything(s) she wanted.

Haven't had a problem with project cars since... although the 66 Sprite is hers.

Monday after they remove the stitches from my eye I start working on the engine install.

Ok I guess it was a really bad idea to add up the receipts. Glad to here the secret is safe here. It is 1130pm, just home from work, plan to be out in the garage early, just maybe I can fit the head this weekend. Had a quick look at her, sleeping in the garage, ready for the big day. really hate to pull the head when the motr runs so nice.

sorry to hear about your eye tony hope everything comes out ok. you have had a lot going on lately. cant wait to see the finished car. maybe you can bring it to the dillard car show in sept.

Just came back from my first drive. It is 11 pm so I took it easy along the dark country roads. Too many Deer around here. Seems to have a noticeable improvement in torque. Need more time to adjust the advance curve etc. now that the motor is built the way I planed it. Off Monday so I hope to sneak out to the garage, only problem is the family is also off Monday.
