Re: "HAPPY VETERANS DAY TO ALL"

Happy to say the draft ended two weeks before my 18th birthday, did not have to go to Vietnam.(would have gone Navy, my Brother-in-law was on the USS Hancock) I am most grateful to all who have served. The world is a better place because of them.

Re: "HAPPY VETERANS DAY TO ALL"

Draft lottery number 252 kept me from going. But a neighborhood buddy of mine was drafted and went to 'Nam, never to return.

Here's to remembering him on this solemn and special day.

No, I was stationed in Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima) and went down to Bangkok about once a month for fun and games. We had fun and games in Korat, but the quality was better in Bangkok. :thirsty:

I got around to all the Thai bases at some piont. ISTR I chased a squadron of A-7's from Myrtle Beach to (fairly certain) Korat as a story.

We'd ride the train down to Bangkok about as frequently... The (in)famous Windsor Hotel.

Took to staying in the President after about the second trip.

Really!?!? Wow. I suspect we know some people in common then! Herm Kokojan was a pal, some of the other AAVS guys I'm still in contact with. One of 'em is in a couple pic's HERE He broke a leg ejecting from a wounded OV-10.

Did a few TDY's to NKP. Busride to town was always an adventure.
