Hope you're all enjoying a fantastic day, and a few plates of:

Herbed whole lamb, spit-roasted since midnight.
Grilled lemon chicken
Roasted potatoes with lemon, orange, and oregano
Spinach pie with cheese
Lettuce with dill and spring onions
Beer, retsina, water

Burp a couple times, and then ...
Kalitsounia Kritis: cheese pastries
Galaktoboureko: custard-filled phyllo pastry
Koulourakia: utter cookies
Vasilopita: Easter bread
really STRONG coffee!

and dance the rest of the day away!

Now *that* sounds like something I'd like (but I pretty much like *all* Greek food).

We pass an Orthodox church all the time (it's really close to the Rutgers football stadium).
Last week it was so busy, they had a policman directing traffic into their parking lot...this week, I'm sure it'll be even busier.

I went to high school with a lot of Russian Orthodox kids and it was always interesting to me that their holidays were on slightly different dates than Catholic and Protestant holidays.

Have a nice holiday, Mike! (plus anyone else here who this may apply to).

Awesome sight at the Greek Orthodox Church last night...about 300 people outside with candles. Happy Easter!

The best restaurants have Greek chefs! Man, can those guys cook! I love Greek food also! Don't get much of it around Myrtle Beach and none of it out here in the sticks where I live.
