We went down to New Orleans on Saturday to catch a parade (that's how we say it down here) and to catch some Mardi Gras beads. We stationed ourselves on the corner of Napoleon and St. Charles and I have never seen a crowd this large in all the years that I have been going. A good thing to see. Everyone was having fun. Was going to take the TR6 but wisely decided against it, parking was impossible. Good to see the people of New Orleans relaxing a bit.

Bill-

Glad to hear it. I'd like to make the run over to British Car Day there in March but I'm not sure my TR4 has better than a 10 mile limit at this point. At least the breakdown this weekend makes me think I need to work the kinks out first.

Cheers,
Randy.

Glad to hear you went. Just got home from our pancake supper and we toasted Rex (even though it was a bit early). Janet and I hope to make the show in March, but it's up in the air at the moment.

Incidentally, our first date (a blind date) was on Mardi Gras Day, 1969. I picked her up early in the morning, and we spent the day on St. Charles Ave., walking from between Napoleon and Jackson, to the Quarter, and then back up St. Charles to Audubon Park (with plenty of "refreshment stops" in between)! So Mardi Gras is pretty special to us indeed!

Hello Mickey,
I was at Loyola in 1969 in dental school. And, I was tending bar at La Boucherie bar on Charters Street. Maybe I served ya'll a drink! I remember being on duty at the bar and watching the moon landing. (I still don't think that was for real.)

Hope ya'll can make it to the show.

I made jambalaya for my family for dinner tonight. I'm in the Mardi Gras mood.

I never made it to NO for Mardi Gras, but I was there for the New Years Eve when the fireworks display exploded in the truck while offloading it towards the barge. As I recall, my wife and I were asleep by 10pm.

It's entirely possible, though I wouldn't remember! If not then, maybe another time.

If we don't make the N.O. show, we'll be back. In fact, I'll be in Robert for a conference in May. I'll be in touch.

Jerri & I also had Shrove Tuesday pancakes tonight, Mickey!
