It's a good feeling. Last night I asked my girlfriend of 2 years if she would be my wife. We had already decided to move in together, and I had been planning for this for about a month, but in a happy coincidence I just got a buyer for my house this weekend, so moving day will be soon. Now I'm going to have to get used to the words fiancee and eventually wife instead of just girlfriend! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My younger daughter just got married last week and by coincidence, her husband is a racer!
And my older daughter's husband just finished his Masters degree the day of the wedding (last Friday).
So I know what you mean by 'Happy day'.

37 years tomorrow - & for our anniversary, we're driving to Memphis to pick up an MGB I just bought (& anything she wants to buy along the way!)

My congrats to all betrothed and annivsaries.
(Married three years and already have a new love [in the garage])
 
28 + years here,& she still talks to me (sometimes).
Amazes me - we have 8 vehicles,& I'm still married!
Reminds me of the movie where the newleywed tells an older guy "Well,youve been married for 20 years",to which
the older guy says "Not to the same Woman!"

We've got near thirty now... First Wife and I managed almost eight. We were at a disadvantage as we were college age at the start. But we still communicate regularly. SWMBO and self are both lobe switchers (she born in Oldham, England to boot!), so all is viewed as pragmatic. It's worked well so far. Lookin' forwaed to th' NEXT thirty. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
 
Thanks to all for the kind words. We're both pretty excited about it, even if the date hasn't been set yet. She did say we'll have to have discussions about just how many spare parts I really need to have for the car though. I'm trying to get across that you can never have enough spare parts, but she's convinced that one of each is enough. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
 
Ask her how that applies to carbs, wheels, brake drums, pistons, rocker arms, etc etc. Now is the time to get a space commitement.

Make up before you go to bed...

That advice was given to me by my Father 21 years ago,
it has worked for him for 55 years, and my grandfather
for 75 years...
