The Ford Mustang!

tumblr_m8z7dbnFW41qg3n0do1_1280.jpg

April 17, 1964 - made its public debut at the New York World's Fair (remember those ...?).

If anyone has one that needs to be driven cross country, please let me know. :jester:

Having grown up not to far from the Worlds Fair, I remember going to the Ford exhibit and riding in a '64 Mustang that transported you through the exhibit. Fun times!

Mustang was the first "classic" car I really fell for. Might still own one some day, a nice 289 GT hardtop would be fun.

For those who weren't around then, it's hard to describe the excitement that car generated. I know I'll never forget seeing that commercial and the first Mustangs. For a 15-year-old guy in those days, it was pure heaven!

My first car was a '65 Mustang with wire-wheel hubcaps. It was a beautiful silver blue (not too far off Healey blue).

My dad made me sell it for $425 when I went off to college. I've never quite forgiven him...

I can only imagine. 58-63 wasn't exactly the most happening times for American automotive design.

And I raise you '59 Edsel, 59 El Camino and anything made by Mopar in '61.

Yep, I was there too. In fact, I took this photo (I was 13 years old). This was the first Mustang I'd ever seen.

We'll be at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix this summer.
Mustang is the honoured marque----> https://www.pvgp.org/mustang/

We were at Maker Faire last year (which is held at the NY Science Museum on the old World's Fair grounds)....It was neat to see the UniSphere again.
