Today is Cecil Kimber's birthday. This makes it mandatory to drive your M.G. as much as possible. If it doesn't run, then at least sit in the car and dream. Give it a nice wash and check the tire pressure. For cryin' out loud, do something!

Happy BD C! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Will it be okay if I yell at it as I kick the tyres??
Can't drive,as the alternator is off the car,new one coming.

Anyway, thanks for reminding us about Cecil Kimber.Without his persistence we wouldn't have any MG's.

Happy Birthday to Cecil. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

>>>>>>>In 1924, Cecil Kimber founded MG, the most popular British sports car marque ever. Surprisingly, his knowledge of car mechanics was scant. He preferred sailing or fishing to tinkering with engines, but his daughter, Jean Cook, now 79, recalls that her father "drove like the clappers", having abandoned motorcycling in 1910 after a crash.<<<<<

Well maybe that tranny isn't such a big deal after all. My knowledge also being scant.

3 cheers for CK!!

Cecil was a "driver". A man after my own heart. Some people love to tinker for countless hours in the garage. I prefer to wear out tires. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Ya....me too!

Good old Cecil...I always considered him an early hot-rodder. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Here in the eastern USA, we have a Cecil Kimber Run, right near my house.

I won't be going, since no-gots streetable MG (yet) and the Miata might be deemed inappropriate. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

My street rat-Midget project is on hold until I get the Escort fully race-prepped.

I drive mine daily. I put an average of 8 to 10K miles on my B annually in his honor /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
