Holy Cow!!! Can someone please shed some light on the secret to reassembling the handbrake mechanism, cables and all?!? I swear this is proving to be the most difficult part of the rear suspension project so far! That whole contraption is like a freaking Rubik's Cube to me (which I never mastered)! I try and get one part together and another comes apart and so on, and I can't seem to get any more slack in the system. I have the cables in place (though not hooked up to the brakes yet) and I still can't get them joined to the handbrake AND get the handbrake back in its mounting. I'm going nuts here! :wall: Any wisdom appreciated.

I don't remember a problem. Is it in the rear or the front the hassle?
 
Oops, sorry Dale, no pics of that procedure. Don, the problem was in the front at the connection of the cables to the brake lever. But what I did was assemble everything except the bolt that holds the brake arm to the body and I put a piece of tree branch (yes, that's right) through the hole the bolt goes through. I cut it short enough that i could still fit the arm through into its mounting. Once I got the arm in place I pushed the stick out with the bolt as I slid it through. Once the bolt was part way through to keep that confounded metal plate from slipping, I was able to wiggle it the rest of the way through. An ordeal it was, but once I came up with the stick idea it went reasonably well. I was actually going to use a carrot, but I found the stick first and was too beat to go upstairs to hunt vegetables. Still, you'd think they could've designed an easier way. I imagine once those cables stretch a little bit, a different method would make more sense.
