H1 Throttle Shafts

Okay, I've done what I can to tune up the Tunebug. On issue that was suggested is that throttle shafts are probably worn. How do I test?

I can wiggle the shaft that connects the 2 carbs pretty easily. Is that what I'm looking at? Any other way to test?

I posted a suggestion on your other topic "video", but I'll add if you can wiggle the throttle shafts - and get any noticeable movement (up/down) - then shafts are worn. If its done with engine running you may get a variation in idle.

I have one throttle shaft that is a little sloppy on my car, but it is not too big of a deal as far as drivability - though it’s not possible to get a real smooth idle...

Test for wiggle by grasping the throttle plate and seeing if the shaft can move. The shaft connecting the carbs should have wiggle in it so that it doesn't bind.

I'll give a look tonight when I get home. If I were a betting man, I'd consider it a safe bet that they are quite worn.
