Guam

I deleted the Guam thread. Had one complaint which felt it was too political. While I didn't feel the thread was really getting "political" the linked article DID in fact mention the individual's party, even thought the poster stated that it didn't.

In the interest of peace, love and harmony, let's not post stuff that seems to make fun of any politicians or parties, because it can only serve to raise some people's ire, while others may find in funny.

Now let's all hold hands and sing Kumbaya whilst contemplating our navels :grouphug:

You're th' coxswain, bub.

I missed the thread but figured this would be the last place to read the name Guam! I spent 11 years there while was in the service.

A girl behind every tree....and one tree.

Fortunately, I got to avoid WesPacs, did all my stuff in the Atlantic.

I bet we know some folks in common then.

For those who have been to Guam:

The FAA guys used to say (maybe jokingly?) that if an FAA inspector really screwed up, he would be transferred to the Guam office as punishment.

I have always been curious.

Are things bad there? Or is it just that Guam is remote?

I saw a program about Guam on TV.Seems that there
aren't in wild birds left - the snakes have killed all
of them.

There seems to be a program for issuing these:

https://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/DCAn...es&local=GU

A lot of countries issue commemorative coins and stamps to generate income from collectors. They provide pretty little pictures and bits of metal just like real stamps and coins, but don't have to do any of the work required- like carry letters or whatever people use quarters for these days... and if they're foreign buyers, so much the better for the balance of trade.
