GT6 GT6 wheel size

I found a set of 15x7 wheels that I like for my wife's GT6 for Valentine's Day, but I can't find much mention in the way of the GT6 for fit.

I found the long list of wheels that fit, and someone has listed a 15x7 on there, and then mentions that he had them custom made to the correct offset. These are listed as custom wheels to fit the Spitfire GT6, and the offset is listed as +25.

I just want to know that they'll fit without rubbing before I spend the money.

That is the typical offset you would use for a TR7 or TR8. It will yield you about a 5 inch back space and about 3 inches from the wheel mounting surface to the front lip of the wheel. It the offset was zero, the mounting surface would be centered and yield 4 and 4. The 25 stands for 25mm or roughly 1" offset towards the outside of the wheel. The 7 inches is measured from the inside edge of the wheel lip to the other inside edge of the wheel lip as that is where the tire sits, so the outer edges of the lip will be closer to 8 inches. Your best bet is to look at your car with the wheels off and take some test measurements. 15X7 seems big unless you have fender flares. I sold a set of 13X6 wheels with the 25 offset to a Spitfire guy. They rubbed on his car, so they came back to me. Wasn't the original rim something like 13 by 4.5 or 5 inches?

the offset for gt6 original wheels is half an inch. The original rims for the gt6 were 4.5 inches and the 5 inch wide wheel was used on the later model spitfires years 79 & 80. The originals also are a 13inch wheel the 15 should fit with a low profile tire but not sure about the 7 for the width

Yeah, the width is what concerns me. Height I can probably take care of with sidewall. The lady on the phone said something like 5" from hub in, and 3.5" from hub to fender with the offset, so pretty good estimate!
