GT6 GT6+ timimg chain cover

My cover has been bondo-ized and is pretty funky looking. Is there a source for these other than the local junk yard? I see they're listed as NLA at the usual suspects, and there appears to be no crossover from TR250 or TR6. Any suggestions?

Random thought: Are you sure it's "bondo-ized"? The GT-6's and TR-6's all had an oatmealish pasty material on the front of them. Supposedly for noise reduction. I think most people clean it all off and leave it off.

A note in the Moss catalog for TR3-4 timing chain covers says:

"Original timing covers have what looks like the leftovers of the last batch of body filler stuck on the outside. Several owners of potential Concours-winning cars have spent many happy hours removing this. Don’t! It’s there as a sound deadener."

I don't know if this also true with the six cylinder engines. Could it be sound deadener by an chance?

I haven't pulled the cover yet and don't know for sure but this is a glob that only covers about 1/4 of the face of the cover.
