GT6 GT6 Newbie question

Hey guys n gals. I Recently came across a 73 GT6 I could not pass up. I havent had to much time to get my head around her yet but I keep hearing people complaining left and right about "rotoflex" axles. How can i tell if i have these or not and what is so horrible about them?

and for the love of anything holy does anyone on this rock of earth machine an aluminum head for this thing?! I would not spare any expense to get my hands on one!

Rotoflex;

All it does is give the car a wind up feel when you take off.
They're a lot better looking new. I think that one is an original rotoflex to my car.

Charlie, a '73 could have the Spitfire setup, solid axle, but they do vary in size of axle. If you have the Spit setup you have a perfect candidate for the Spit body transplant, making what is known as a Spit 6. not that the GT6 dosen't have a really nice form all by itself.

As Wayne notes, your '73 (KF20001 or later) probably has the regular swing axles and "swing spring" setup. The only real downside of the Rotoflex setup is the top-quality new Rotoflex couplings are scarce and very expensive!

Don't sweat the Rotoflex - she'll drive and handle just fine once sorted.

Canleys in the U.K. has been developing an aluminum 6 cylinder Triumph head for 2 or 3 yrs. now, but I haven't heard any release date...

Alright thanks guys, yea i dont have rotoflexes now that i see a picture of them. Cant wait to get working on this beauty! Ill have pictures soon but its nothing special yet
