GT6 GT6 Carpet kit differences ?

At some point in the not too distant future I hope to be able to turn my attention to the interior of my restoration project. I recently became aware of a guy who wants to sell an uninstalled carpet kit he bought some time ago. His kit is for a MkII and I'm restoring a MkI.

I see Victoria British lists separate parts numbers for their deluxe carpet kits for these two GT6 models. Anyone know what the difference is?
Thanks,
Dave

Hmmm... So the rear deck (parcel shelf?) is shorter on the MkII as compared to MkI.

How much shorter, I wonder? A gap that could be covered with a piece of trim or something? Maybe a permanently mounted parcel of suitable shape and size? (just kidding... sorta)

The cost savings of buying the kit from the private party seller are significant and if I could make it work without the end result looking tacky I might do it.

Anyone else know of interior differences (carpedt areas) between the MkI and MkII?

As usual, thanks...

Upwards of a foot, maybe? Again, the change was between 1969 and 1970 models, so the "shorter" carpet from the 1970 kit

wouldn't cover the longer deck from a 1969 (or earlier) car.

You may want to check what comes in that carpet set - for my GT6Mk3 the rear deck carpet was a seperate piece that I had to buy. The carpet kit contains all the pieces for the front floors, footwells, center tunnel and the wheel well arches. If that is the same for your kit, then the pieces should all fit and you would only need a rear deck carpet.
