That was nice of you to let that guy
drive your car.
Some of those drivers were real maroons.
Reminds me of the way people drive here in Calif.
The driver seemed to have a lot of self control,
probably didn't want to bend it.

When was the last year that they used the "Le Mans Start"??

Ah Yes... ~The LeMans GT-40s~ . I remember them well!

Just kidding...this pic of me was taken at Lime Rock: they had a big printed poster on one of the buildings.

If you want to see a modified LeMans start, we always do one at our EMRA 2-Hour enduro at Pocono in September (Sept 8 this year).
We modify it by having the drivers already strapped in the car. A "runner" has to run about 50 yards up behind the car and touch it before the car can be started. All cars are lined up diagonally, like LeMans. It's a huge peel-out contest...the crews love it.

Nial- Do you know Joe Maguinus (not sure how he spells his last name)?
 
There's a Joe McGuinness (sp?) that's a Spridget autocrosser and auto painter in Frederick, Maryland. Lays out the courses for Capital Driving Club events. I know him. Fast Spridget!
