The interior in my 1967 GT is black with white piping.

A few questions.

Q1 - Are the seats supposed to match the interior with white piping or would they be all black?

The headliner & upper trim is a cream or white color as evidenced by removing the mirror.

Q2 - Is that correct & which is it white or cream?

My headliner has fallen.

Q3 - Is it cream or is it white?
Q4 - What type of fabric is it?
Q5 - How is it replaced?

It feels like there is thin layer of foam in there and it is making a mess.

Mirror.

Q5 - Is it Grey or white?
Q6 - Can they be purchased.

Moss does not cary them.

Lastly, anyone have an original semi decent driver side rubber sill cover & a driver side rubber mat? The kind that snaps in.

I am curious about colors cause I would like to purchase some vinyl to replace some of my bits.

I've seen BGT's with a light grey headliner. Other than that... I don't know the answers to anything else. Someone will though.

I replaced the cloth headliner in my wife's Talon by removing the board that it was glued to, and scraping all the dead foam off of it, and gluing on a piece of black vinyl from wal-mart. Turned out pretty good, except that the 3M super adhesive attacked the vinyl in a few areas... I'd go with regular 3M adhesive - the Super adhesive even says not to use it on vinyl - pays to read the can.

All GT's have a light grey headliner.....its material over thin foam glued to hardboard...Moss carries the kit without the hardboard...so, you have to slide the hardboard out through the hatch....then replace the foam & headliner material.

DPO must have eliminated the hardboard. I ain't got it and the fabric is beige.

DPO headliner!

Beige headliners were used on Sandy Beige GTs..../quote]

& only on cars painted Beige...but they still had the hardboard behind them.

I just did the headliner in one of our Jeeps...not a fun task. A good fabric shop will carry headliner material, but beware that many of the high school chickies workng there don't know it. That and a trip to the local autoparts store for some "Heads-UP" liner adhesive will do the trick for most headliners. I also remember seeing replacement hardboards online somewhere, but don't recall if they had any for a MGBGT.

What thickness is the hardboard & is it formed to the shape of the roof?

Formed to shape of car - & I've never been able to get an old one out without breaking it!

Well I pulled a panel out of the back, the vinyl not exposed to the sunlight was in fact a light grey. The Header vinyl has turned to a beige color but is also in face gray.

If I don't have a headliner board, what do I do?

Tony,
In the case that yours has broken what did you do?

I've a friend who owns an upholstery shop - he can pull them without breaking...I've just taken him an old parts car to pull & use...thank goodness all my GT's now have new headliners!

Are they moulded? or just a flat panel bowed into the roof?

When you take one out, it looks molded.

Moss is going to send me some samples but then I need to figure out what to do about a new board.

Do they sell that type of masonite at lumber yards or Home Depot?

I wonder if I can wet it and shape it to match.

Yep, masonite from lumber yards. Lows, Home Depot or such 4X8 foot sheets and many thicknesses.

If damp it will bind readely but darn if I know how you would form it with out the car up side down and some sand bags.

In the old days we use to replace the enterior panels with this stuff rather than the cardboard used in the orginial cars. Was handy and cheep and worked, we were mostly looking for things that worked and were cheep.

The hardboard liner is very thin & ther foam/cloth adheers directly to it...I think masonite will be too heavy....

The thin masonite Tony. Might be a special order even. Seem to remember it was 1/8 inch.

I used the thin Masonite for the door panels, rear side panels, and hatch panels of my GT...then covered them with a tweed upholstry that I found locally.

I, too, am at a loss as to how one would make this work for the headliner.
