Spit 6 restore project is stalled. seems that the lines between Spitfire and GT 6 have been confused along many areas. I need to regroup and do some studying. If it were not for previous owners, this would be a breeze!!

I have some assistance from a knowledgeable TR2 owner, but his experience, my lack of experience, and the Haynes manual are not enough for us to get these carbs started. It is obvious that parts are missing, and what is there does not support the carbs to function as designed or intended.

Can anyone provide pictures of GT 6 carbs & linkage? I believe this is a '72 engine.

The distributor vacuum has been disconnected, and we cannot find the port it is supposed to hook to. Only one carb has the choke attached...shouldn't I have a dual choke cable?

A couple of well aimed snapshots could tell us if the throttle linkage is remotely approximate of original. What is there has been altered, brazed parts are clearly evident. Was this due to a break, or has someone cobbled something together?

Thanks in advance.

Mike:

Take a couple of photos of your carbs and E-mail
them along with your description to Jeff Palya
at:

micropolishing@paltech1.com

Jeff is a wizz with carbs and will probably be able
to tell you what you actually have and also an honest
opinion as to your proper path forward.

Several of us have used Jeff's services and found him
to be honest and he puts out high quality finished products.

best of luck

OK I am totally STOKED on that. Who ever did that PLEASE,PLease do one for the 6!!!

I have never seen a concept anything like it!
For someone like me, who has a butchered TR6
with many parts missing and no other TRs around
to look at......

it would be a blessing.

Can you imagine? An entire TR6 or any TR with
these type of graphics available? Worth it's
weight in gold.
