English cars aren't th' ONLY ones wot suffer intermittant electrical snafus. Alfa left front signal needs a WIRE from lamp to chassis for it to work now. gor.
 
Do you need me to get a picture of a terminal block strip out of a Boeing 767???????

meh. Actually, Alfa did some REALLY goofy things electrically. Each headlamp has its own fuse, some stuff (ciggy lighter, radio, turn signals) is "live" with th' iggy switched off...

DPO was convinced this car had "electrical problems" or "a short someplace" since the battery would be dead after a couple days of sitting. He had NO CLUE about th' radio. I got th' car for near nothing as result. Towed it home and had it running in an hour. HIS old battery lasted ME three years.
 
The aircraft manufacturers do similar things, though they seem to be goofy, in the enviroment that they operate, it's actually a pretty smart setup. What's funny is most people, even mechanics never get to look at the back of an avionics rack, unless they are trained in avionics. The front is all nice an pretty with boxes, and the back is covered with terminal strips, where there are thousands of 18 AWG wires making connections back there.
