So I've been shopping for a bidet to install in the newly remodeled bathroom. Some of the higher-end models have features and remote controls that would rival the most fancy smart TVs. I can just picture myself one day sitting there frantically trying to remember where I left that remote! LOL!

Our bidet was stolen and there are no clues. We have nothing to go on.

Is the plan for a separate bidet, or an add-on - like an elaborate seat - to an existing toilet? With space limitations, the add-on might be the better choice. There are some excellent choices, with all the options imaginable, on the market. Also consider the electrical requirements since most are plug into 120 outlet.

I’m going with an add-on seat on an existing (Toto Drake II) toilet. Electrical outlet is being installed behind the toilet to accommodate.
 
Just wondering ... does anyone here actually use a bidet?

Not to get too personal ... but seems a "wet wipe" would serve the same purpose, and you wouldn't have uncontrolled spray aimed at your ... privates. (And you wouldn't have wet bacteria sprayed all around.)

Enquiring minds want to know!
 
We had a house with a bidet and no one ever used it (I think it even leaked from lack of use) - That said I have tried a Toto toilet (with the remote - it was mounted on the wall :D) It was truly amazing.

The newer bidets are a LOT better than the old days. Very much better controlled. No comparison to the bidets of old. You get a lot cleaner with a bidet than with TP.
One reason we’re getting one is that we are on a septic system and will put a lot less paper in the system. Also, the newer high-end bidets have an air drier function.

When you say Toto toilet do you mean a bidet toilet? I only ask because the Toto S7A is one of the bidet seats we are looking at for our Toto Drake toilet

PS in Japan, where there is a high cultural emphasis on hygiene, bidets are in over 80% of the homes. Bidets are used in many European countries as well. I've used the old style bidets when we lived in Germany and wasn't too crazy about them, but the newer bidets, with temperature selectable water, personalized wand settings, an air drier, as well as heated seats, well these new ones are a different story.
 
Agreed. Modern advances - I'm convinced the one I used recently had laser-guided accuracy - and environmental mindset have made the bidet experience more appealing. The 120-outlet requirement has stalled our decision for now.

To answer your previous question - yes a bidet toilet - with the features listed above. It was amazing. And I can't believe I am having this conversation on a public forum. :LOL: 🫢 (it was actually installed in the restroom of the store selling bathroom fixtures - I suspect they got more than one sale out of it)
 
Philippines answer to the bidet.
They call it the bum gun or bum blaster. Depending on water pressure available.
