Grille ?

I recently picked up a second grille to canabalize. I am planning on using the first grille pictured but I don't know what year or make the second grille is from. It looks like a Midget but aren't they pained black? Also the top is not flat it turns up in a smile on each end and the mesh area is a larger square. Just wondering

My best guess is that it's for a Sprite.
I've had a few grilles, I currently have one like your lower picture and it has small holes in some of the pieces that are there to put on the trim piece.
Lets see if I can get a picture...

Yes, that is a Sprite grill, the earlier midgets had the thing with the chrome bars, then about the time they stopped making the Sprite they got the Sprite grill with some modifications such as the MG badge, accent ring and black paint.

So are you really saying that this grille is what was on the later midgets 70's on after Sprites were discontinued? You are confusing me when you say a Sprite grille.

To me a Sprite and a Midget are two separate cars. I have a Sprite not a Midget. Looking over both grilles ther are not any small holes for hanging additional hardware.

Mark, you indeed have a sprite grill (comfortably from 62 thru 69). The upturned top ends are nothing more than the grill having been bent out of shape at some point in the past. The information glemon gave was spot on, what he is saying will become clear after looking in a few books on spridgets and the listed years.
