After a long search, I found the right car for me. I found a true "garage find" this weekend and I am now the proud owner of a 1962 Triumph TR4 (Surrey top). I also own a 1990 Range Rover Classic.
The TR4 details: It was owned by a neighbor. I knew he owned one, but had not seen it in years. I thought he had sold it. Turns out, he drove it home one day parked it, got married the next weekend and never drove it again. ????? It was a good thing for me. Six years later I find out he has it in the garage and wants to sell it. I called him up and next thing you know it is mine.
It had a frame off restoration in 1997 and won an award at the BMW Euroautofestival in 97. The previous owner bought it in 1998 or 1999 and drove it on weekends until April 2000. That is when he parked it and got married. It has 3,600 miles on the clock since the restoration.
Other than the 6 year dust coating, the car still looks incredible and the paint and chrome are impeccable. The engine was rebuilt during the restoration and I think it is going to fire up and purr by the end of this week. I can't wait!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif
