Good to be aboard!My car is a 791/2(mfg Nov 79 for 80 model year)a 1500 #19 BL White Completely restored frame off.Am still upgrading.New parts on hand;for SPRING install;1 set Coker WW(21/2")175/70/r13.Recent upgrades;gas struts(bonnet)Complete rebuilt engine,rebuilt rearend,with Monroe air shocks,Would like to hear from other Spit owners.Member of 'NASS'(North American Spitfire Squadron)Glad to be aboard.Ken & Whitelightning.Canton,Ohio(0deg..8"snow &20mph winds.My significant other(Whitelightning)is snug as bug in a rug presently & hibernating. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/patriot.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/patriot.gif

I think i'm going to like it here!My beloved is tucked away in its own garage,double-covered,& battery out.Any of party-of-the-first-part(or parts)Visited the Triumph Spitfire NASS yahoo forum?I'm a member,BUT this place has so many bells & whistles I don't really know where to start.I uploaded a photo but it didn't do enough,I deleted it.I'll be looking around for another one.I've been around LBC's for awhile,& lovem all.Owning Sunbeam Tigers,Mg'S,Tr's etc,there in my blood,but Whitelightning is the BEST of the bunch...Please leave a comment at my new website,click on the news button....at...https://www.myspitfire.zoomshare.com....Need to use the IE5-6 ADDRESS BAR TO ACCESS.;Cheers;Ken

Hello Myspitire. You mentioned that you had put the gas struts on your front clip(bonnet). I have a restored 79 Spitty AKA SPIT-UP & am very interested in how too & what struts you used. My baby is hiding in storage now as I live in the good old Western NY Area. Some of the first words you learn as child here are "Lake Effect Snow"

The car at the far right (outside) is a 1986 Dodge 600ES Turbo Convertible. It was the car I took my driver's test on and did most of my high school dating in -- worth nothing, but it actually will outrun my Triumphs. (It actually ran door-to-door with Camaros, Trans Ams and often beat 5.0L Mustangs -- especially once we hit turns.)

Hello! R&M, I purchased my gas struts at 'RockAuto'The(or my preferred)site for information is Paul Teglers MEGA SITE.
A google search should bring it up,It describes in detail what you need,part numbers,& how to install.Very worthwhile upgrade.When installed removes all the stress on the person & the bonnet.I believe i spent $79.00+SH....And very easy to install!even by a novice & diy'er.A few of my club friends have gone to good salvage yards & picked them up for very few dollars.In that regard the attach brackets need to be hand made,but easily purchased at home improvement stores(Home Depot etc).....I'll get more info for you soon...Ken & Whitelightning (part numbers etc)

To Ken & Whitelightning: Thanks much for the info on the gas struts. Have my Spitty & 67 AH 3000. Love both but the Spit outhandles the Big Healy.
