Hello,
My name is Anita, I live up here in Washington State, and I have a 62 MkII Sprite that I have a couple of questions about -
She is all very original, just under 58,000 miles. We're going to take her to our first (for us) show in a few weeks, where she'll be entered in the unrestored catagory. My husband is thinking we should get her some beauty rims, to dress her up a bit, but we're wondering if that'll diminish her "unrestored" status...were they pretty standard, or not so common?
She still has her deep pink paint job...someone told us they only built 50 pink ones, then gave up on that color as they couldn't sell them all. Huh. Hard to believe...I sure do love her, and she sure does bring a lot of smiles to faces (she is my everyday driver, except when the snow is too deep on our half-mile long driveway) What a treat of a rig!

Thanks, I really appreciate any thoughts folks may have on these 2 questions...

Anita

Anita, first let me welcome you to the best on-line forum in the world. Secondly, the beauty rings were common, so shouldn't detract from anything at all.
Incidentally, a friend also has a Pink '62, still in the original paint. With beauty rings.

Great folks Great fun!

OK, beauty rims it is. Thanks for the notes of welcome, I've figured out how to make myself into a little (slightly smooshed) avatar, but not yet how to really post pics...maybe I'll give that a try another night, meanwhile, at least you can see her lovely color...
Thanks,
Anita of the pink Sprite

Welcome, Anita of the pink Sprite!!

Welcome aboard. Posting pictures is easy. You need to use the full editor, not the "quick reply or quick quotes" box at the bottom of a thread. So, either start a new thread, or if you reply to an existing thread (like this one), use the "Edit" or "Quote" buttons at the bootom of a thread to enter teh full-featured editor. Then, type in your message an usual, but at the bottom of teh editor you will see "Post Options" Click the "File Manager" which will allow you to browse your computer for pictures to upload. Images must be 250k or less in file size. Then when you save your post, the image will either appear in the post as a picture (if file size is less that 75k) or it will be a lick that people can click on.

I thought it was 50K?

...and I've licked those "ATTACHMENT" notes repeatedly...

They just don't open for some reason. But my CRT is cleaner. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Welcome!
Always great to have another Sprite aboard (especially as we get close to the 40th anniversary of these cars).
