Now this is what I call a tragic loss.
These people never had a chance against M.N. Other than a small warning to evacuate.
My thoughts and prayers go out to them.
 
Absolutely tragic!
 
And we thought Hurricans were bad.
 
What astonishes me, is that it was an EF-5 with estimated winds of 205mph. It's nothing short of a miracle that the entire population weren't killed.
Very tragic nonetheless, but with that kind of power, it could've been disasterously worse.
 
The minimal loss of life is nothing short of a miracle all things considered!!!
 
I've been on a Kansas Listserve and the last couple of days people have been checking on whereabouts of individuals, checking to see who does/does not have a place to stay, etc. Communications gets fragmented with no phones, internet, etc. One story was shared in which the husband and the one child who were at home during the ordeal came out of the basement-- which normally enters the family room-- now contained nothing recognizable but pieces of their neighbors house and the warzone that once was their town.

And it was over 1 mile wide at its base. Then there was a second, smaller, tornado which was then followed by ping pong sized hail. That is a whole lot of mother nature in a very short period of time.
