I live in New England on the coast and have been here all my life. I been interested in automobiles since an early age. My father was one of those a typical automobile enthusiasts. We would participate in many auto shows over the years. My father had great knowledge of many makes of vehicles and many that were long since out of production. My father purchased a 1954 Austin Healey BN1 in 1969. He had many foreign cars prior which he wished he had kept. I have pictures of his 1950 Jaguar 120 roadster, a 53 MG TD, 56 Morris Minor sedan, 58 Volvo and the later family car a 1966 English Ford Cortina wagon. Most of these cars he had before I was born. the only one I had experience with was the Cortina. Well I rode in it and sometimes assisted my father with mechanical work. He had traded the car in when he purchased a new Honda Civic in 1976. I was not of driving age then. Well legally. When I was 17 I purchased a 1965 Mustang as my first car and I still have to this day. I have had Volkswagen Bugs also but that was back in the 1980's. I had a few of them and many parts. I just sold off the last of the used parts couple weeks ago that have been hanging around for 30 years or more. Sadly my father passed away at the end of 2015. He had given me his 54 Austin Healey 100 prior to his death. The car has been sitting for 25 plus years. It had been parked due to the gas tank leak and a sunken float. The floats were replaced but we never replaced the tank. I started to investigate finding parts for the car before my father passed away. Mom ended up in the nursing home and then a couple months later Dad ended up in the same place. Both are gone now and are sadly missed. I would like to restore the Austin Healey. I don't seem to have the time myself or can do it physically. I have considered having it done and have checked out some facilities on the web. There work looks great but I have no experience with the restorers. I don't know if anyone on this blog can give me some idea of who would be a good restorer for this project? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks
