Great news from Puerto Rico!!! Updated 4:30PM

To All:

I just spoke with Dale and the battle is going in favor of Dave and Dale. According to Dale, Dave is a wizard and a blessing for him to have there.

The new McMaster Carr throttle bushings that I sent him went in in under 45 minutes and the clutch installed with no issues. The transmission went into place with the normal jiggling around and they are securing the rear mount and driveshaft as I type this.

Additional tuning and tweaking to follow.

With the receipt of the new brake line they will be able to repair and bleed the two leaking rear wheel cylinders tomorrow.

The car should be on the road to Dale's house later this afternoon.

Pictures and more detail direct from PR later today.

Re: Great news from Puerto Rico!!!

Mahalo Paul. I'm reading the good news as I get ready to head off to work. I hate to think where we'd be without the internet, this forum, and fellow LBC addicts.

More time for the beach babes!!!

Re: Great news from Puerto Rico!!!

Last report came in at 1:38, their time:

Crypt Car was being driven down main roads and the shifting through the gears was just fine. Dale sounded like an excited little kid in a candy store on the voice mail that he left for me.

A ripple of growth!

I guess we better be seeing some beach scenes taken from Cryptie soon. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

Re: Great news from Puerto Rico!!!

Hi to all from Puerto Rico. I conclude the install of the clutch and trans. The "new" car is now in Dale's garage and we have already had a pop to celebrate. The two issues now are brakes (no sweat) and how to remove the dust acquired in storage (I'm scared). We will send out messages tomorrow to keep you all abreast of things. In Canadian terms WHOO HOO!!! Dave

Re: Great news from Puerto Rico!!!

Now that that's taken care of,is Dale looking
for a new project?
You see,I have this Ford Corsair GT for sale,
just needs a little bit of (full restoration)work....

Re: Great news from Puerto Rico!!!

I need to get that guy to stop off on his way back here in Charelston SC to help me with my dash wiring fiasco. It's right on the way, 72 degrees today, how about it 14dna?

Re: Great news from Puerto Rico!!! Updated 4:30PM

And a well fought battle it was indeed.
David and Dale both bloodied. Crypty put
up one one heck of fight and saved a suicide
attack upon David for the very last gasp attempt
to win the vistory of the day.

Everything in place, tools put away, area cleaned
up and taking Crypty down off the jack stands. No
problem with the front two.

Dave Has a sissor jack under the diff and raising
Crypty pulls the 2 rear jacks stands out while Dale
has a secondary hydraulic jack waiting to shift the
load onto a more stable footing.

With only 1/2 inch to go, Crytpy jerks sideways, knocks
over David's jack and drops directly onto David's head andupper body. The hydraulic jack takes a glancing blow
and also folds over sideways as David slithers out under
the falling rear bumper bruised but nothing crushed.

Then a trip to a beach bar for double shot rums to calm everyone nerves.

Tomorrow Ctypty gets brakes.
