The fan-favorite British sitcom Fawlty Towers, starring the hilarious John Cleese as Basil Towers and his wife Sybil, is set for a reboot. The original Fawlty Towers focused on the Towers as they tried to run their beloved hotel amidst the chaos that often results from running a business. So far, the information about the plot for the revival has been a bit scarce. A lot of time has passed since the original show aired now, so understandably, finding a new, fresh plot is a challenging task. Cleese and his daughter, Camilla Cleese, have confirmed that they will both star and serve as writers on the show's reboot.

The official quote about the plot of the Faulty Towers revival states that "the show will explore how Cleese's over-the-top, cynical, and misanthropic Basil Fawlty navigates the modern world" (via Deadline). The original cast members, John Cleese and Rob Reiner will reprise their roles in the revival. Unfortunately, Andrew Sachs won't return as Manuel due to his passing, but that does not necessarily mean the character will be phased out in the revival.

It will be interesting to see how it pans out. Most reboots end up being a shadow of the original show.

I expect Cleese is a bit long in the tooth for some of his former antics.
