Since I enjoy this forum so much I decided to check out the one for my Cayenne and other Porches. They are so negetive that it was depressing. I checked out other car (non British)forums and found them to also be a bunch of complaners with no helpful advice. Thanks, Basil, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif for all the great stuff you do for us and thanks all the members for making this the place to be and the car to own. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Yeah, the guy actually first wrote something good about Triumphs, so I changed it.

Seriously though, I went in and added some capitalization. It seems that the "Internet culture" has improved communications while spawning a lack of respect for the conventions of our language. (Not that I never make mistakes myself...) As an editor, these things jump out at me and I can't help myself -- I'm an editor, dammit! -- and I try to correct capitalization and spelling and other stuff.

I can't help it! (And you DO have a "SHIFT" key there on your keyboard, you know...) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

Thank-you, Reid! Just a tiny lttle bit of effort makes the post so much easier to read and understand.
A pet peeve of mine, too.

Dave, Dave, Dave... you use capitals, therefore you have a SHIFT key, even though it might be labeled something else. YOU, of all people, should understand these very technical matters, n'est-ce pas? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Nothing labeled "ket" or that functions as "ket". I do have a shift "key". Is "ket" short for kettle or what?

All right Dave, you're now on notice: Your next typo and you are toast toast brother-man, toast!

You may not see me, and you may not hear me, but I'll be there... watching, waiting, proofreading...
toast! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

"I'm an editor, dammit! -- and I try to correct capitalization and spelling and other stuff."

I'm not the one who was making a big deal out of correct spelling. Typos are just as incorrect as if they were intended. If they are excusable, I can claim immunity on this basis.
