Great Fla. vacation

Just got back last nite from two weeks in Fla. Great weather, beautiful shuttle launch and found(bought) our vacation place. My sister that lives there in Okeechobee and drives a 70 Midget I gave her three years ago is thrilled as now she'll have a mechanic to keep her car up. We're happy as we were able to write a check for the place and own it free and clear. People there are great...but they all call us kids and youngsters....being we're under 60 they act like we're teenagers. Next step is to ready a car to position there...probaly one of my 77 Bs. One needs paint and a front glass and we're going to do a wire wheel conversion and a few other things. Place has a nice carport and is just short of being a garage. I'll wait toll after hurricane season and then make the roadtrip.

We're gonna-hafta hook up, Jack.

How ya gonna handle all this HUMIDITY after livin' in NM? :smirk:

We lived in Homestead for a year...Panama City for three...and Charleston SC for four years...plus all my overseas trips...it felt good when my pores opened up:smile:

And look what I found for sale...

Jack, you never fail us, do you?

I was about to ask how many cars you found there..... Now, if you tell me that it's yours for three hundred bucks I shall have to throw up! :jester:

Unlike most of my finds this one was NOT cheap...as my wife dragged me by my feet...I left tears and fingernails in the dirt. I think I was hyper ventilating too....actually I think thee price is pretty good..$9900..looks perfect, runs great..and I did not buy it.

Looks like a "woulda-shoulda-coulda"!

Jack, you sound like me: I've hardly ever met a shiny LBC I didn't like.

If that $9K red TR6 is as nice as it seems, BUY IT! Pricing on TR6s has been inching up for years now, with no end in sight. Not many good deals out there.

Good luck with the new FL place, sounds nice~!

Jack, you should feel at home in Okeechobee (just "down the road" from us here in the Jupiter area!), Nice country-side, horse country and centrally located with just about every part of Fl (the panhandle is still a long drive!)within easy reach!! Nice LBC country roads to enjoy too (except that most of the roads down here lack those fun "twisty bits"!)

"Next step is to ready a car to position there"

Should have bought the 6, then it could have been pre-positioned and saved the road trip.
