Finally got the MGB back on the road after a frustrating month waiting for parts for the exhaust. Today was a beautiful day, so I took the car into work. The bosses in my department decided to let us out early today, so instead of going straight home I took the *long* way.

Up over Wolf Creek pass to Hannah for a little lunch at the cafe there. This is one of my favorite local roads, and as it only reopened for the summer a couple weeks ago it was the first time I could take the B. What good fun!

No traffic to speak of, sun shining, good pavement. About 40 miles each way, up to roughly 9500' in elevation. B did great, mostly 3rd and 3rd OD all the way up. Temp needle moved, but no where near overheating. I *love* this car!

Caught up to a Porsche Cayman on the way back down. Nowhere safe to pass him -- he was moving along okay but I'd have gone a bit quicker had I the road to myself.

Absolutely made my weekend, maybe my month. Been essentially working two jobs these days (gigs haven't really slowed down this year like normal, good for the finances but tiring) so a surprise free afternoon is a real blessing. I didn't waste it.

Pssssst, Drew.....over there.....in the corner of the garage.....poor little Tunebug.....needs love too!!

My kind of day for sure. But now the question begs... when do you sell the Bugeye to buy an MGB GT for winter use?

Tunebug's at a shop getting (hopefully) the exhaust leak sorted out. Hope to have him back next week. I'll admit that the B is much more comfy to drive, though, and faster if not as nimble.

I'd never run a nice old car for the winter here. They salt the roads like McDonald's salts their fries. You can hear your car rusting away. Though a Land Rover with aluminum body and galvanized chassis could be fun...

See Drew, I'm not the only one to give you a hard time.

Somebody needs to draw a front end of a Bugeye looking sad and droopy

that should be easy enough to GIMP...

challenge... accepted!!

Speakin' of GIMP, I may even have Herself interested in using it.

nice! You really can't beat legitimately free software that's as powerful as big money applications, IMO

Not my best work, but I think this is a reasonable stab at it :p

Very funny y'all.

I've been using Gimp for my work needs for 5 or so years. Solid, functional, free. Works for me.

Not pathetic enough. I n fact looks like a norm Bug

Holy cow, nice to see you again, Rob! Been a good year at least!
yeah, I try to keep my public appearances down. It allows me to drive up the cost of 'paid for' appearances...

Now that's truly pitiful.

Y'all are truly harsh, ya know. Tunebug's doing just fine, hoping to have him back on the road shortly.
