TR2/3/3A Grease Gun Color

I am under the impression the the tool kit grease gun was a "hammered" blue. I thought it was mentioned in the judging guide, but I can't find it. Just wondered if you guys could confirm the color for me?

55 & 56 tool rolls like mine were in a state of confusion on what you may find in the rolls. I think the blue grease guns with the spring loaded nozzle were found in latter cars. The roll in my car has a Tecalment 3000 bent wire handle gun in it with bare metal, natural finish. Not sure if it's correct for your car or not. According to Teri Ann your car should have an Enots style gun or what was on the line at the time.

If you want to show your car in concours it's best not to display a tool roll if it's not 100% correct, you will get deductions, but no deductions if you don't show one at all.
 
Thanks, guys! So, hammered blue on the tecalimit...but not my year. Then it looks like dark blue or black on my Enot "correct" gun. I've got a good Enot on the way from England.

So...what should the "cap" look like?
 
I think I'm confused. Are we referring to the cap where the grease goes in or a cap that goes on the end of the grease injection tip?
 
Oh, the cap of the gun (to retain the grease) is bare metal. The end cap over the nozzle, I'm not sure, possibly black like the rest of the gun.

I've got all the "correct" tools lined up now, with the exception of the feeler gage and valve removal tool. The feelers come up reasonably on Ebay, so no problem there. The little valve tools are getting obscenely pricy! If I knew they would jump to the $50 range I would have kept the one in my TR3 before I sold it.
