The Twink engine has completed its rebuild, dyno testing and installation, and the Red 'Ropa is back on the road (even passed the MA sticker inspection).

So here are some unnecessary pictures of the process and finished product:

Thanks! I have not seen the Hemmings article yet - but I think I know the car you mean. Its also a red TC that lives two towns away. The owner is a club member. First time I saw that car was just after buying my own Europa. Was driving it down a nice quiet windy country road in town, when over the crest of a hill comes my car's "twin". At first I thought I was having some sort of episode - too much of something the night before. We both pulled over, somewhat in disbelief, and introduced ourselves etc. A somewhat surreal moment.

Hey Rob, what kind of numbers did you see on the dynO? Can you post a copy of the dyno output? Thanks, Dan

The engine is pretty much "stock" Federal trim. 112HP ant 6500rpm, and 106ft-lb at 4800rpm. I do have the curve but not sure how to post it.

The engine was rebuilt by Bill McCurdy at Williams Racing in Harvard, MA. He does excellent work and knows the Twink engine inside out. He was a little disgusted I think that I wanted to stay stock on the rebuild. His preferred setup is a Weber head with 1700cc long stroke crank. He'll guarentee 140HP from that setup. (He is currently building a 2200cc turbo Twink, which should be good for 250HP or more). But 112HP is plenty for me in this feather-weight skate board.

Thanks Doc. Yes - stock trim can still give you a surprise when you give it the beans. Plenty of omph for me.
