She has loved water since she was a baby. She didn't want to leave. That's one happy little girl.... nice!
I sent my sister some of these pictures and she texted back: "Remember when you jumped off the diving board opening day in Bridgeport and you couldnβt swim a lick!"And it's a good thing to be able to in case she ever falls in a pool or creek or pond or such and no one is close by.
I can still remember how terrified I was when my feet didn't find anything solid below me! Lifeguard had to jump in and drag me out.My youngest brother who's 14 years my junior did that when he was about 5 or 6. Deep end of a pool, went right to the bottom. Fortunately he jumped in beside me so was only underwater a few seconds, scared him since he had no idea it was deep and what swimming was.
You learned at a young age. That's what we hope to do for granddaughter. Never know when it could save her life.Apparently I was born part fish. Spent summers from age five on (and in) Lake Erie. Can't remember not knowing how to swim. Our winters spent waiting for summer to come back.
Great the kid loves the water, she'll be "drown-proofed" now.
I learned to swim by my dad tossing me in the deep end of a swimming pool. That ended poorly, and my mom decided I needed lessons. I wound up going through the YMCA's entire program and spending a summer as a life guard.Cute. We learned to swim in the great Pacific Ocean. Rule #1 never turn your back on a wave, unless of course, when surfing.
I didnβt go into the water until I learned how to swim.I learned to swim by my dad tossing me in the deep end of a swimming pool. That ended poorly, and my mom decided I needed lessons. I wound up going through the YMCA's entire program and spending a summer as a life guard.
