GPS and Speedo

I put a Toyota gearbox conversion in my TR3 during the restoration. I also got wider wheels with 185/70-15 tires. I figured this combo should really throw off the speedo reading.

So today, I took the GPS out with me in the TR3 to see how far off the speedo reading was compared to actual road speed.

Boy, was I in for a surprise. At 30mph indicated, the GPS said 30mph. Same thing happened at 50, 60 & 70mph. DEAD ON! I mean, I'm not talking one or two MPH difference, I'm talking DEAD ON!

What are the odds of this happening??? I think I'll go play Lotto. :thirsty:

Awesome! Random wins are the best!

I did the same thing after rebuilding my speedo (without knowing what I was doing) and the GPS and speedo was dead on!!! I think I will play the Lotto too!
